BORED

Okay so I'm home and alone. I need to get some energy out and I should be hitting the gym but it's too hot to go anywhere. 114 today--yuck. I don't do the blog much anymore but maybe this will be a creative way to keep me busy. Work is DEAD and no wonder. Why would anyone want to come to the desert when it is 114?? I will survive the heat and just need to keep busy. TV is boring me and I should finish my book but I don't think I can sit still. The kitten would love to play with me as she jumps in her kitty condo aka. two left over moving boxes but she will have to wait until later to play. A friend suggested I get another kitten to play with with but I will pass to that recommendation. I don't want to be the crazy cat lady.
I keep getting this feeling that I need to get into comedy. I know I could give Chelsea Handler a run for her money. She is getting sloppy and I know I have way funnier stories than her. Now if I just had a talented sister who would edit my work and help me on my book. Oh wait I do.. she passed on the idea. All I can say is that I will not change names to protect people. It's just funner that way.
My early stories of childhood, sibling rivarly, having an older sister who was so smart she could french braid her own hair. That was the lead in from my dad to introduce us kids. I think I just got a this is Lisa..she taught the dog to stay in his dog house by putting up and laundry basket to block him from geting out. This was before the "dog whisperer" existed. The whole NO dating in High School. Me awaiting to get my first kiss from a guy when my friend piped up and said "you want to kiss Lisa?" Getting set up with a boy who had a slight case of Down syndrome.
Going out with a set up type situation where the guy asked me if he could buy me breakfast the next morning and me thinking wow he was going to come to my house, meet my parents and take me to breakfast. Going to the grocery store for my mother to have "customer Lisa King please come to customer service" over the PA while I see my High School love crush there with his mom.
Or another favorite is when I had my friend set me up with her brother for a phone call date (he lived North I lived South) And he fell asleep on the phone. It got really silent on the other end and then the snoring began. I think my friend teased me about that for a month.
Ya I think I could write a good book and have great material for some stand-up. Maybe they have stand-up for dummies?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERUL MOTHER

Today is my Mom's Birthday. I gave her a call and thanked her for being a good Mom and was remembering some fun stories that she has forgotten about. Growing up I will totally admit we were bratty kids--or as the Spark's would say "the King brats" We used to fight with each other and the last thing we would want to do was spend time at our own house finding other families homes more fun. My Mother would work a full time job and have to come home to inpatient kids waiting for dinner and having to do regular Mom duties. My Mom is a super hard working woman and kind hearted. I remember one time I had an argument with my Mom and got sent to my room and fell asleep and woke up to a little Smurf doll in my pocket. My Mom was not a strict Mom and I'm thankful for that. She put in late hours, put up with fighting kids--lots of sibling rivalry in our house which is something that she wasn't used too growing up as the youngest child in her family. But now that I have personally met my mate I am so thankful for everything that she has taught me. She raised kids to have manners, to be kind to others. To remember what life is all about. To live my life righteously, and to have a strong work ethic. Your a great Mom!!!Happy Birthday I hope it is a great one and I'm sorry that I'm not close to celebrate your special day with you. I love you Mom--your little helper Lisa

VEGAS

I was able to escape to Las Vegas with a few friends and have a fun Batchelorette Party. It was very overdue to relax and chill following a busy work season--I was ready to unwind. We stayed at the Planet Hollywood. We were at the pool made a trip to Cafe Rio and hit up a couple of fun clubs. I had a blast and I'm so thankful for the time to unwind and for my good friend Sarah to help put on the event. Here are some fun pictures

A SERIOUS MUST SEE

When I took Anatomy for Massage School it was so interesting that I felt everyone should take the class to see how the body works. Well I saw a great movie that I never got the chance to see in the theaters. Michael Moore's Capitalism--A love story
I loved his other movies and knew I would enjoy his latest. Everyone should see it--no matter what your political views---Why you ask? Because you will see that they are ALL crooks. He shows it to you--plain as day. Sign of the times? Probably. Is the way that we live now really the way Christ would like us to live? Probably not. What I like about the movie is that it isn't Michael Moore's opinion. He just asks questions and the people who have either worked with the government or the banks spell it out that it is a super crooked system. Rent it!!!!

MY FAVORITE SHOW

So many of you know that our family is really into "The Young and the Restless" I even explained it a little to Aaron while he was here. My brother even knows what is going on because Juline watches it as well. Well Ashley's baby wasn't really hers, it was Sharon's baby that was told died at birth. My favorite Character Phyliss had the opportunity to still keep it a secret after she found the lost letter that held the truth in it. She even got as close as to light a flame to possibly burn it. But she did the right thing and let everyone know that Sharon's baby was really alive. Sound silly? It might to others but I firmly believe that Y&R is the best show on TV.
